Welcome to the Roanoke Valley Veterans Museum

The Roanoke Valley Veterans’ Museum has displayed World War II memorabilia since the Grand Opening of the relocated Museum on 4th of July weekend last year. The majority of the Museum collection is from the WWII era.

As the museum gets ready to change the rotational display from WWII to Vietnam – we are putting out the call for donations. Museum volunteers ask Gazette readers to look through that attic chest and footlocker with an eye toward donating items to the Museum. An alternative to outright “donation” is to place the item on loan and to provide a list of people authorized to reclaim items when desired. Either way the community gets to view important items and we honor our Vets.

By putting out the call for Vietnam memorabilia now, we’re assured (after community response) of creating a quality display. The Museum is dedicated to providing ONLY quality displays. We do have a good core Vietnam display but, call upon the community to augment what we currently have and make it even better. Please look through your storage boxes and help our Museum with a Vietnam War focus. The Museum is open Friday and Saturday 10:00 to 4:00 pm and Sunday afternoons, 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Museum contact phone is (252) 586-1900.
